What Does WBC-4.1, MPV-9.2 And Mono At 14.1 Mean?

blood test indicates WBC-4.1, MPV-9.2 and Mono at 14.1 what does this mean. For about three weeks i had a low grade fever every night and chills. I was also very constapated. Then all of a sudden the constapation broke and the fevers stopped. However the blood test indicated the above results. I m 59 150 lbs and in great shape (WM). This all started after I had a cevical fusion done in my neck (Oct 1, 2013). Complications were I lost my voice and could not swallow. Then I had an injection of gel into my vocal cord and my voice is back and the swallowing is almost normal. I lost 13 lbs since this all started but I do feel alot better just concerned about the blood work up.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
The interpretation of blood report is as follows:
1, White blood cell count of 4.1 (thousand per cubuc millimeters) is within normal range.
2. Mean platelet volume of 9.2 is also within normal limits. MPV is the measure of volume of platelets.
3. Monocyte count of 14 is slightly raised. Monocytes are raised in cases of chronic infections.

The associated fever could be due to the infection.
However, it is not possible to detect the infectious agent on the basis of blood profile.

Thanks and take care
