I have it cocvered with a bandage 2x a day. She took a culture of it last week. I appreciate your opinion.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,
I understood your concern. MRSA is just a resistant strain of staphylococcus aureus and its clinical manifestations are just like any other staph aureus infection.Only difference being it does not respond to most antibiotics. And usually you get it by contact with a person who has MRSA or if you have been hospitalized recently (iatrogenic) . You will have to wait for the culture if you suspect MRSA infection. Since your doctor already took a culture, I dont see any reason to be worried about.
