What Does A Black Spot On The Knee Indicate?

My friend has a black spot on his knee, it just appeared in the last couple of days. He hasn t had any injuries there recently (Within the last couple of weeks) and it seems like it is filled with fluid when you touch it. We re not sure what it is but it doesn t seem to be causing him too much discomfort.
