What Does A Black Spot On The Roof Of The Mouth Indicate?

I am a inflammatory breast cancer survivor so I can get a bit jumpy about some issues. I discover ed a black spot on the roof of my mouth today. I can feel it slightly that is what caused me to even look but it isn t sore. It just kinda feels like something stuck there. Do I run to urgent care now. Wait make an appointment with a doctor or what? I m trying not to panic but it seems like I need to be cautious.

Hi,

Dermatologic conditions are hard to discuss without seeing them and often need biopsy. There are several things it might be but early oral cancer is one of them for a new, odd raised growth. Urgent care cannot do a biopsy in all probability. A dermatologist you've been to can get you in the fastest and seeing your regular doctor is probably the next fastest. Cannot say in your particular case, but generally, this is true.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
