Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.
An ECG records electrical activity of the heart, and every blip may not always be suggestive of a
heart attack. An ECG gives information about the
heart rate, rhythm, size and position of heart chambers, any new or past heart attacks,
angina etc.
Hence the blip that is showing up on the ECG maybe related to any of the parameters that a ECG records.
I would suggest you speak in depth with your husbands doctor, and do the necessary tests for a cardiac checkup once (eg
Echocardiogram) to see what the blip is and if he needs any medication for it.
You will have the necessary information ready the next time he has an ECG. Also just to add, some heart attacks can be silent.
Hope I have helped you in understanding the problem.
Wishing you both good health.
