What Does A Blister On The Bottom Of The Toe Indicate?

I have a sore on the bottom of my toe. I believe i have scrapped it on the bottom of a pool. Currently i have applied iodine and will be putting polysporin with a band aid overnight. I am diabetic and understand the complications...however...i do feel the pain. There is yellow or white in the middle with red around. Any thoughts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

From the description in the query, it looks like a bacterial infection.

I suggest cleaning the area thoroughly with hydrogen peroxide and iodine.

I also suggest to use an antibiotic cream for local application and cover it with a clean bandage.

If the symptoms continue, you should go to your GP for further treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
