What Does A Blocked Sinus And Eardrum Indicate?

Hi, ive had blocked sinus in the right side for 2 days, yesterday my right ear had pressure in it, it only had a slight retraction ane the pressure was still i the normal range of -40, last night it felt fuller, couldnt hear out of it started having ear pain, then this morning it felt like the ear drum was trying to pop, then loud ringing (tinnitus) followed for 2 hours but disappeared, i woke up to the right side of my face feeling numb and all around my ear in the skull, seen a doc, said they have no idea about the numb feeling, couldnt tell if the eardrum poppedor not, there was some fluid behind eardrum.. I still cant hear and im worried about the numbness, could the infection have gotten into the mastoid bone?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that there is infection in ear secondary to sinus infection and loss of hearing is due to fluid accumulation inside ear behind the eardrum..
Feeling of numbness also seems to be due to inflammation and infection and as the infection will reduce gradually the numbness will also subside..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and Otoscopy of the ear can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
He can advise you antibiotics like Augmentin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, decongestants oral as well as nasal, steam inhalations and also antibiotic and steroid ear drops..
Manual removal of the fluid by syringing can also be done..
You should also avoid water exposure to ear like swimming as it can increase infection..
Avoid popping as well as picking the ear..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
