Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My recent bloodwork shows my Glucose level at 111 - H, the normal being (70 - 105) and my Creatinine level at 1.34, the normal being (.60 - 1.10) Does this mean my kidneys are failing? I am seeing my Dr. next week, I just want to be prepared for what she is going to say.
Hello dear I understand your concern You do not mention about the which type of glucose. If it is post meal glucose test then it is completely normal If it is fasting then it suggest impaired fasting glycemia (pre diabetes). Normal fasting blood glucose is 70-110 mg/dl. So you have just high but nothing to worry. According to NABL laboratory creatinine reference range is 0.6-1.4 mg/dl. Your value is 1.3 and it does not suggest kidney is failing. I would suggest to repeat the test (fasting blood sugar and creatinine) in NABL laboratory after 2-3 week. Do regualr exercise and take healthy diet, drink plenty of water Hope this may help you
