What Does A Blood Pressure Reading Of 140/72 Indicate?
I experienced a few days where my head felt strange and I was kind of clammy. I don t have a history of high blood pressure but went to a pharmacy to check it because I thought it could be related. BP was 140/72. Would that have been high enough to cause any symptoms?

140/72 is borderline high blood pressure. You have measured it only once, which is not serious.
I would advise you to check blood pressure for several days, if there are high data, they can cause symptoms.

High blood pressure can some times cause symptoms like giddiness and sensation of heavy head.This should be carefully evaluated through monitoring of blood pressure in the standard 3 positions at 2 week interval span.A baseline EKG and a screening 2 dimensional ECHO of the heart can help to rule out organic lesions of heart.Reduction of intake of salt to less than 5 gms/day will help.Regular physical exercise with a healthy diet will help to reduce the blood pressure.Maintain the blood pressure to less 130/80 mm of Hg.Consult your cardiologist for further queries.
