What Does A Bruise On The Lower Leg Indicate?

about 2 weeks ago I got a small bruise on my lower leg near ankle. I bruise easy and did not give it another thought., About a week ago a heavy item tipped over and scaped down my leg and over the bruise. Yesterday I noticed the skin abound bruise was red. Today that circle of red is bigger and now there is discomfort when I step and also at rest. I is pretty tender to touch. Isn t ward or cold. Is this something I should be concerned about? 64 year female

Hello welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

You are having history of frequent bruise occurrence over various part of body by minor trauma. So blood coagulation disorder like hemophilia has to be ruled out. Your further work should be done in form of PT, APTT, BT, CBC like investigations. You can revert back with these reports.

Hope I have answered your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
