Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just completed my testosterone injection into my leg and two things happened never happened before. 1). It bled a significant amount compared to previous injections and where it’s typically just a spot of blood at the injection site, this time it was a flow. 2). A bump appears at the injection site. My questions are; did I hit a vein and was the testosterone possibly ejected with the blood?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You have symptoms of a bump at an injection site which is because of tissue laceration and localized tissue damage to the area because of needle entrance. It could be an nerve damage rather localized damage due to excessive force involved.
I would suggest you visit a general physician once and get to the area of damage examined. Apply numbing gel to the local area as well. It will take 2-3 weeks to heal it properly. Avoid itching and pricking again and again. You should apply Thrombophob gel and ice pack on the site of swelling.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
