Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a raised bump in my mouth with a black dot in the center. I also have the same bump on the other side of my mouth in the same spot but this one does not cause as much pain as the other. I am a 19 year old female with braces and i smoke often. Could this be signs of oral cancer?
Raised bump in mouth that is painful with a black dot can be a hematoma caused due to any injury, an ulcer or abscess..
For narrowing down the exact cause, a clinical examination is a must and once it is diagnosed then appropriate treatment can be advised..
For now to relieve pain you can apply numbing gel containing Lidocaine over it and also avoid spicy and hard foods to avoid further irritation and pain. Avoid smoking as heat and smoke can cause inflammation and increase pain..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
