Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have an unexplained bump about 5cc (I think) from the top of the ear. My neck is always in pain. Had an ultra sound done with no real results. Chiropractor stretched the neck. I usually have chronic neck pain due to my job but this is different. It will go away with advil or muscle creams. Since I had breast Cancer, the general doc wants a CAT scan and sent the ultrasound results to my oncologist. What is the thought here? Thanks
I would agree with your doctor. With a background of cancer it’s important to assess any lump that is noticed and avoid trying to guess what it may be. If the CT scan states it’s not cancer then we can breathe a sigh of relief and continue to investigate what the other less sinister causes may be like degeneration, cysts etc.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Aashish Raghu, Orthopedic Surgeon
