What Does A Bump Or Cyst On The Sclera Of My Eye Indicate?

There is a not too big/not too small bump/cyst on the white of my right eye. It occurred immediately after I rubbed it, which was a bad idea. My eye looks very red, but not painful. There was some severe itching at first, but that has gone away. What is happening to my eye?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you should visit an ophthalmologist to see your eye. Meanwhile, you can use corticosteroid and antibiotic drops to fight swelling and infection.

Use cold compresses over it. Use different towels to dry your eyes in order that you prevent infection of the other eye.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
