What Does A Dark And Round Rash On The Left Elbow Indicate?

My fiancé has a circle that is dark around his left elbow, it is a good size circle with a darker color. He noticed today that he has it on the other elbow now. He has an apt. today, but I am just curious as to what could be causing this? He has numbness down his arm and his thumb is throbbing.

Hello,

Dark rash/circle in the elbow can be due to exposure to the sun, accumulation of dead skin, freckles & age spots or certain skin conditions psoriasis or eczema.

Staying away from exposure to the sun, keeping elbows clean can help the dark spots to go away naturally. He can get physically examined to rule out any skin infection/disease.

Numbness & throbbing of the thumb is indicative of some developing neurological problem. Never the less it can be due to anxiety, stress, vitamin deficiencies.

He can have Nerve Conduction studies done.
