What Does A Fall In HCG Levels During Pregnancy Suggest?
I had abdominal pain on Saturday April 25th 2015 I currently found out that I am pregnant at the hospital they performed in a hCG level test and they said that the testing findings were too high I went back to the doctors today the 26th of April 2015 and they say that the levels are too LowI was advised by my OBGYN to immediately go to a local hospital and get a shot to terminate pregnancyI also had an ultrasound on the 25th of April 2015 while in the ER and was told that there was a sac seen but no fetal pole but that it may be too early
If the ultrasound shows only a sac and no fetal pole, then it is definitely a sign of early pregnancy,, as fetal pole generally appears at 6 weeks of gestation. In early pregnancy, a drastic fall of HCG level, is generally an indication of a miscarriage / impending miscarriage, usually as a cause of blighted ovum, in an very early pregnancy. Hence your OBGYN has rightly advised you to go for a medical termination of pregnancy. However, all this should be done under guidance of your doctor, taking into account, your medical condition.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
