What Does A Growing Lump With Multicolored Bruise On Right Rib Cage Of A Child Suggest?

My 6 year old daughter has a large lump with a multi colored bruise on it at the bottom of her right rib cage. It started out as a small little ball like lump with a shade of a bruise smaller than a dime shape. Days later the lump is the size of a half dollar and the bruise is dark colored. We want to the hospital the 1st day we noticed and the doctor said she probably bummed into something or it may be a bug bite. They said the bruise will get worse and it had and the lump has grown bigger. Should I just go back to the hospital or make an appointment at her pediatricians office?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It can be an insect bite and can soon go away. Visit her to pediatrician because it is not an emergency situation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
