What Does A Hard Lump In The Middle Of The Upper Lip Indicate?
Hello I noticed a hard lump right in the middle of my upper lip inside my skin and it s swollen part of my lip and it kind of feels numb. It almost feels like cartilage you can get built up inside your earlobe. I m 21, haven t got punched inthe face recently and I don t think it s a cold sore because it s not on the surface. Any suggestions please?
hello and welcome to HCM forum, Thank you for writing to us,
After reading your query, I feel that the lip biting could be one of the causes for it, do you recall doing that? Our lips have glands which if traumatized, can increase in size but the swelling usually resolves by itself. In your case we will have to examine the lump clinically in order to rule out the cause. Also, keep an eye on the lump for changes in size or colour. Is the lump painful? And if possible kindly visit your doctor just to make sure that everything is within normal limits.
I hope I was able to provide you with an acceptable answer, Feel free to write back.
I wish you good health, Take care,
regards, Dr. Bibhudutt Nanda
