What Does A Hard Lump On Hips Indicate?

Hello, Last November I discovered a hard lump in my right hip area and it grew rapidly from first locating it until they did a biopsy of it and then ultimately removed it surgically. They tripled check it and it was a benign tumor. Last weekend I was noticing it was hurting to sit and the pain seemed localized in my right butt cheek area. I was rubbing that area and discovered a very hard area that is harder that the tumor I had last year and to meet feels to be the size of a large grape. Was wondering what it could possibly be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is possible that it maybe an area of fibroid tissue (scar). Fibroid tissue (scar) can be hard and would generally form in any area of trauma. It can change and become smaller as time progresses but this can be a slow process. In some cases, it can take months to years for this modification to occur.

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
