What Does A Hard Lump On The Right Side Of The Neck Suggest?
I have a small hard lump on the right side of my neck that sticks out a little bit that gets inflamed and tender to touch. tonight I noticed I have a small lump next to the right side of my throat at the collar bone ridge. its very tender to touch. no soar throat or injury to my upper body other than a flu shot in the last week. could this be causing this symptom? should I be concerned enough to waste time going to a doctor?
Presence of a hard lump is always a good reason to see a doctor. The doctor will need to examine it and determine some of the characteristics of the lump, if it is mobile or not, how big it is, if it has a smooth surface, etc. Even if the doctor does not think it is a serious condition he will need to monitor the lump in 2 weeks to see if it is getting bigger or not.. If the lump is not regressing the doctor will need to send you for an ultrasound examination and according to its results, further steps will be decided.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
