What Does A Hard Patch Of Skin Inside The Ear Indicate?
I have a hard patch inside my ear, not to deep, on the side of the ear canal near the head. It does not become soft with oil and sometimes, very seldom I have an ache in the cartilage near my head near this ear. My left eye is weak due to a childhood skull fracture. Can you tell me what this is?

Hi, Thanks for the query. I understand your concern. The hard patch inside your ear canal seems to be a layer of ear wax. Over the counter Soliwax.. if put in both ears 3-4 drops twice a day for 3 days would make it soft.Try to remove it gently with a earbudto be removed by some body else). Dont poke it in or use some other thing like hair pin to remove the softened wax A couple of over the counter anti inflammatory pill (IBUPROFEN) & antibiotic ear drops woulds suffice after removal of wax.. if there is pain. In case there is blood or you can not remove it... you should consult an ENT specialist...for his consultation &expert treatment/ear cleaning with special instruments. Thanks.
