What Does A Itchy Rash In The Groin Area Indicate?

Hi, I m a 19 year old male and I am experiencing a rash on my scrotum and groin area. It s very itchy and tender(possibly from the itching). There are small lumps on my inner thigh/groin area that look similar to small mosquito bites. I recently started taking 4 strong antibiotics (one PICC line, one inhaled, and 2 oral) for treatment of a cystic fibrosis related lung infection, and I m hoping this is the reason for the rash and that when I finish my treatment it will leave. Should this be something to worry about or is it most likely due to the antibiotics?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be related to a fungal infection.

I suggest using Diflucan for three days.

I also suggest using Miconazole cream for local application.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
