What Does A Large And Raised Mole On The Leg Indicate?

Hi, I have a question about a large flat mole on my leg ( around lateral aspect of knee) which I recently noticed had developed a raised, dark, symmetrical blister approx the size of a pencil eraser. I only noticed it recently and prior to noticing it I do remember my dog scratching my mole 2 days prior ( at the time I didn t get to look at the scratch as it was dark). I have had the mole ( light brown, flat) since I was 2years old. I am now 25 and female. I also had moles checked about 4 months ago wth my doctor and there was nothing wrong with it then. I m not sure how long it can take for melanoma s to develop. I saw my doctor the same day I noticed it and he thought I was a blood blister. I just wanted to get another option.. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Melanomas can develop quite rapidly. Melanomas usually do not look like blood blisters though. They are usually irregularly shaped and irregularly pigmented. A blood blister should resolve in a few weeks. If it does not then see your doctor for another exam
