Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I noticed a small peanut sized lump located on the upper external area of my armpit. It has been there about a week now. It has shrunk. It was sore and tender to touch in the beginning. Now it is just tender to touch. When it first appeared, the first 3-4 days the size did not change. I was able to feel it when I had my arm rested down against my side. A small amount of tenderness and very mild pain/discomfort was present. Though it has shrunk significantly, it is still tender to touch. My mother at age 40 was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. She did not survive with treatment for more then 9 months. She also showed lumps under her arm, but they were much larger.
Hi Welcome I have gone through your query. It might be contact dermatitis or folliculitis. It is difficult to comment on it without examination so kindly upload the pictures of it for better understanding.
Presently I would suggest you to avoid touching it, wash it with mild soap like dermadew. You can apply neosporin ointment to it. For pain you can take NSAIDS like Ibuprofen , it has both antiinflammatory and analgesic property.
I would also like to know few information like Is there any medical history? DM, hypertension? Are you on any medication? How is the rash? Is flat or raised? Is it tender to touch? Have you changed detergen? have you used any new clothes?
Kindly get back to us with the pictures and provide additional I'll be glad to help you out Take care
