What Does A Lump At An Injection Site Indicate?

Hi, I had my flu shot yesterday and when I took the bandaide off last night I noticed that the spot was swollen as big as a golf ball and warm. It didn t hurt at all when the nurse gave me the shot but it is a little sore today and red around the area. Is this normal? I get a flu shot every year but it has never done this before.

hi sir/madam,
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.

The injections may have caused fibrosis underneath the skin. I suggest that you consult a surgeon for an ultrasound of the site and possible surgical excision of the fibrotic lumps.

Hope i was helpful.
