20 year old daughter has constipation since 8 weeks ago following a L5 herinated disc. She noticed a firm defined lump on the right side of her anus and it extends into the perineum. I a very concerned and wonder what this could be. WE have an appointment with a doctor but I have anxiety not knowing.

Hi,

The lump in the anus area can be due to malignancy mass or protruding piles. If you post photo of lesion than further comment can be given.

If it is mass or lump than biopsy can be taken for histopathology examination to reach up to the exact cause.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
