Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
When my son was born his first diaper change I noticed a small oval shaped bump on the side opening of his anus. It s the same color as the rest of his skin and isn t growing. He s 8 months and it s still the same size. It doesn t seem to hurt him. Is it normal for a baby to be born with a small oval lump on anus?
This can be a normal skin tag, which mostly is an anatomical defect. It can be either piles/ haemorrhoids or a congenital hematoma. It can also be a benign mass. All these conditions are painless and not dangerous.
Any case you need to visit a paediatrician for proper evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
