What Does A Lump In The Jawline Indicate?

hi doc! my brother has a lump in the jaw line. they went to the hospital for a check up and they said that the lump was only outside and not affecting the jaw so he was advised for an ultrasound. the ultrasound result said that it was an hypoechoic nodule in the left maxillary. what does that mean?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

A hypoechoic mass is tissue in the body that's more dense or solid than usual. The nature of the lump can be confirmed through biopsy. I suggest to consult an ENT specialist or a surgeon for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
