Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I have had a lump in my left breast for a couple of years it was a small, size of a lentil, small. It is still small but more like a plump pea or a little larger. It hasn t hurt much or if it did it was here and there and very little. The past couple of weeks. I have had tenderness in the side of where the lump is, and now there is a pinching pain or pulling feeling. The tricky part about this is that last year I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. And in Oct I had a loop recorder put in to catch my heart irregularities. I have rapid and slowed heart rythem. I am not sure who I need to see. My of said that we would watch it while I deal with everything else. I am wondering if I may be having a reaction to the loop recorder. But I suppose my biggest fear is if it could be a sign of something else. Cancer possibility. I have also been experiencing chills off and on and extreme cannot keep my eyes open fatigue.
Hello dear I understand your concern Lump in the breast could be due to fibrocystic disease, fibroadenoma, neoplasm, lipoma. Loop recorder put on last year does not cause yoru symptoms. I would suggest to consult the general surgeon and undergo breast examination, USg scan, USG guided FNAC. If FNAC will come inconclusive excision biopsy is the best. Treatment will depend on the specific cause. Fibroadenoma can be resolve by birth control pill or estrogen receptor modulators. So consult the general surgeon and take proper advise. Hope this may help you
