What Does A Lump Midway Between The Vagina And Anus Indicate?

Female (42) has lump midway between vagina and anus. Has consulted gynaecologist who was unsure. Operation was scheduled to remove but removal suspended as the lump was discovered to be attached to colon. Have now been referred to colonologist (appointment scheduled for next week). What could the possible causes be? Could it be related to something less serious than cancer, such as an infection?

Hello,

Do not think of cancer until proven otherwise. There are a number of possibilities ranging from simple cysts, lipomas, abscesses, etc. These can only be ruled out after colonoscopy and biopsy if needed. I suggest you stick to your doctor's plan and let him be the treating physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
