Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, Ive had a lump on the left side of my jawbones near my throat. Its not visible since its under the skin. Its movabled and I move it hurts a little bit. ive had it for awhilw but hadnt given it,much thought until know and im afraid it might be a tumor.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that a lump on left side of the jaw bone near the throat that is movable and slightly sore seems most probably to be slightly swollen lymph node and the most common cause for it is infection in head and neck region [oro-pharyngeal region] or can be persistingly swollen if you had a recent history of infection leading to Reactiionary Lymphadenitis.. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated. He can advise you FNAC/Biopsy of the lymph nodes to confirm the diagnosis.. A course of antibiotics like Amoxicillin or Cephalexin and doing alternate warm and cool compresses over the swelling can help in its resolution..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
