Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have TMJ disorder. No insurance (medical or dental) and no $ to see anyone with... and there's like a knot on my left jawline. It's slightly sore and moveable... but I've been under a lot of stress, so all my muscles are knotted up and it's not palpable from within my mouth, only on (& not under) my jaw...
The movable, palpable and sore lump on jawline is not due to TMJ rather it is due to infected lymph node.. You should consult an Emergency room and get evaluated so that a clinical examination can be done.. If it is an infected lymph node then a course of antibiotics can be advised along with anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen.. Do cool compresses over the lump.. In case if it does not get better in a week to ten days then FNAC can be done for confirmation..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
