What Does A Lump On The Scrotum Indicate?

My 10yo son has a bump on the bottom of his scrotum. It started out as a tiny thing that he describes as an ant bite, but now it is bigger, a bit larger than the size of a pencil eraser. He didn t show it to me when he first discovered it, so I don t know what it looked like then. It doesn t have a head like a pimple, looks more like a bug bite in terms of solid raised area. But the skin of the bump is still the texture of scrotum skin, if that makes sense.
