What Does A Lump Under A Cellulitis Area Indicate?

I had cellulitis. One does of IV antibiotics, 2 10 day course s of antibiotics. I still have a hard lump in my elbow where the infection was. I had an ultrasound yesterday. It is not an abscess. It is slightly warm and quite tender. They said my muscle tissue was still swollen. What is the hard lump and should I be concerned?

dear user

thanks for contact HCM

brief answer

this lump under cellultis indicate lymphatic swelling or muscular swelling and no worry of that

detailed answer

you need not to get worry we see this case alot in our clinic and usually following cellulitis the lymph node trap the micro organism and get swelling and need no treatment for that ..also the muscle swelling may occur due to inflamatory and oedematos reaction and dont worry ...if you feel pain of it you should take antibiotics but now need for that as you did ultrasound and it is free of abcess and just by time it is self limited

wish you healthy life
