Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does A Lump Under A Surgical Incision Indicate?
I had hydrcelectomy surgery 5 days ago. The incision is healing however there is a large knot under the skin and under a portion of the cut area. I feel pressure and pain when I try to walk. It s better if I support my scrotum with my hand or use a jock strap. Could this be a hematoma? And will it subside in time? I am still on pain meds.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Swelling after a surgery for hydrocele may be caused by a hematoma or just inflammatory fluid. I will suggest you continue with your drugs as prescribed. If no anti-inflammatories, your doctor may prescribe one.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mbuomboh Veranso
