Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve had a large lump under my chin for 5 months now and decided to seek help from a doctor. He directed me to have my blood tested for creatinine so we may know for certain that my kidneys can handle a CT Scan with contrast. I now have the results and it says on it s impression Soft tissue nodule in the LEFT piriform sinus, a neoplastic etiology needs to be excluded. Direct visualization is suggested. and Cervical lymphadenopathies, as described. Histologic correlation may be done. . I don t know what those means and I still have a day to wait for my doctor. I m just anxious to know if the finding/s are something that I should be worried about. Thanks in advance!
Respected user, hi I evaluated your query thoroughly . Nodule in piriform sinus as mentioned in the CT Scan may have possibility of neoplastic etiology means it may be cancer ( it is not confirm that it is cancer but chances are there ) , so for final confirmation Biopsy ( taking bit of tissue ) for histological correlation is advised to confirm the diagnosis. Hope this clears your query. Welcome for further questions. Thanks for using HCM & reviewing my answer. Regards dear take care.
