What Does A Lung Nodule On A CT Scan Report Suggest?

I had a needle biopsy of right lung after CT showed a 1.2cm nodule on the right middle lobe. The CT was actually ordered to diagnose my kidney stones but this nodule showed on it. I have no symptoms of any kind. Path report read Atypical Bronchoaveolar cells also had the word Pneuminitis. I am scheduled for a PET scan next week but I m so unsure of what this path report means.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Atypical bronchoalveolar cells mean there are some inflammation and infection. And mostly not cancerous.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
