What Does A Lymp Node On The Heel For My 17-month-old Indicate?
Hi, I went to put my 17 month old son down for his nap earlier and noticed a smallish type lump on the heel of his foot. it looks like it may have pus inside and is a little red and swollen around the area. I m wondering if he has something stuck in his foot or if he has been bitten by a spider?? He doesn t seem overly upset by it yet and was able to go off to sleep as usual. Should I be concerned do you think?

It is a pustule probably. The lymph node is unlikely. Consult a pediatrician and get evaluated. If there is pus, it must be drained and topical antibiotics like mupirocin must be applied. Nothing much to worry and it will settle in couple of days.
