What Does A Painful Growth In The Scrotum Indicate?
Hi, I have some sort of growth in my scrotum that is independent of my balls, that is sore. My wife thinks it could be a cyst. I am not so sure. It had felt sore for several days so as I showered this am I checked and found it. I AM NOW 67 and will soon be 68. What do you recommendz?
I understand your concern. Exact diagnosis need examination by urologist and appropriate investigations. Symptoms could be due to orchitis, varicocele, hydrocele, funicullitis, cyst of epididymis, cancer of testis. You should consult the urologist and undergo following test:
1. Blood: CBC, ESR
2. STD screening
3. Colour dopper or USG of scrotum
4. Biopsy should be take from testis if needed
5. Urine routine and microscopic examination.
Specific treatment will depend on cause. In the meanwhile, you can take cefexine and diclofenac. Wear pure cotton loose inner, hoot fomentation, avoid sex and heavy weight lifting. Wear supporting device that support the scrotum.
Hope this may help you. Contact further if follow up needed.
Thanks and regards, Dr. Sagar
