What Does A Painful Knot Of Dead Skin On The Forefinger Indicate?
I have, what i think, a callus on my forefinger. On the palm side of my hand right under the knuckle. My pharmacist tells me a callus shouldn t hurt. It feels like a knot of dead skin and it hurts to bend my finger. I cant recall injuring it and no strenuous activity. Do you have any ideal what this could be?
This is wart. Wart is a contagious infection caused by human papilloma virus (HPV) infection. Finger warts are usually self-limiting and usually smaller warts resolve spontaneously, but treatment is given to reduce pain, decrease duration, and reduce transmission as it is contagious and spread by direct and indirect contact. Advise 1. Apply salicylic acid 6% locally twice daily 2. Cover them with adhesive bandage while swimming 3. Wear flip-flops when using communal bathroom 4. Do not share your wardrobe and towel with anyone 5. Take high protein diet like egg, milk & cheese to enhance immunity Surgery is used to treat resistant wart Thanks
