What Does A Painful Lump On The Buttocks Indicate?

I have a VERY PAINFUL large bump/lump on my butt cheek. It grew extremely fast and after about 2 days it popped a small hole in it while I was getting out of bed. It has been draining blood ever since and that was a day ago. I had a fever before it burst but that went away. Also, I have a compromised immune system due to a medication I’m on for Crohn’s.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for your query on HCM

"As" per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this -

1)Do a clinical examination by your Doctor and drainage it to heal quickly.

2)Discuss about antibiotics with your Doctor for bacterial infection.

Do follow lifestyle modifications like this -

1)Try to wash your hands regularly with mild soap. Or, use an alcohol-based hand rub often. Careful hand-washing is your best defense against germs.

2)Keep wounds covered. Keep cuts and abrasions clean and covered with sterile, dry bandages until they heal and use topical antibiotics.

3)Keep personal items personal. Avoid sharing personal items, such as towels, sheets, razors, clothing and athletic equipment. If you have a cut or sore, wash your towels and linens using detergent and hot water with added bleach, and dry them in a hot dryer.

Hope that helps
