What Does A Painful Lump On The Rib Cage Indicate?

Hi ,I have a lump on a rib on my back right side middle of my back , I am getting a sharp pain that comes and goes. It’s kinda worries me as I just noticed the bump a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was one of those fatty bumps as I have showed the Dr other fatty bumps , and she said they were nothing .
