What Does A Painful Lump Under The Rib Cage On The Left Side Indicate?

I have had this pain for about three weeks on my left side immediately under my rib cage. I don't notice it until I bump it or touch it or bend to the left. Nothing brings it on and nothing makes it better. It's like a muscle tear but I'm not sure how I would have done it. Woke up the day after Christmas with it. Any ideas? Again I only feel it if it is touched basically.

Please note.

1. Did you have any kind of trauma there?

If there is a swelling, get an fnac and ultrasound scan done.
