Hello and welcome to HCM,
A swelling in the groin is most commonly due to lymph node enlargement.
However, clinical assessment is required to know the nature of the lesion.
Lymph node is usually firm and discrete to feel.
An ultrasound of the groin region will help to know the site and sxtent of the lesion.
An aspiration of the swelling is also required wherein a needle is inserted into the swelling, cells are aspirated, spread on a slide and stained with appropriate stain.
On examining the stained cells the nature of the swelling will be known and thus its management can be planned.

Thanks and take care
