Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I carefully read your question and understand your concern.
If you have a painful spot in the back that you can touch it and make the pain worse this means it is due to skin, muscles or bone and not the inner structures or organs.
Muscular
sprain can cause a painful lump that is soft. If you have a problem with the spine bones that the pain is over one of the vertebra and the vertebra might seem a little displaced. This can be due to many factors but a good examination will help understand the degree of it and also xrays might give a better look and understanding of the cause if it is just displacement or
fracture also- fractures are common in
menopause women or after big trauma.
Skin can be also a cause of painful lumps in the back- if you have a foliculitis, skin cysts (
dermoid cyst) or
abscess.
By what you explain it is more likely it is a vertebra that is hurting and you can use pain killers to help with pain like
Tylenol or Advil and meanwhile make sure you set an appointment with your doctor to have a consultation and may bee if the
vertebral pain is suspected xrays would be helpful.
Hope this is helpful and answers to your question
