Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a tender spot on my right side across from my belly button, it has been hurting for 36 hours and hurts a little bit more when I press on the area, there is no discoloration. I have chronic constipation which I keep under control with stool softeners once a day and polyethylene glycol when needed, and diet. Pain in side came on suddenly. And concerned about trying to eat.
Based on your description, it appears there is a infection of your belly button. Since the discoloration is not present externally, it indicates that the infection could be a little deep. Kindly cleanse the region with mild antiseptic solution like Savlon twice daily. Take anti-inflammatory, analgesic medication like Ibuprofen twice daily after food. Apply moisturizer cream over the area at bedtime. Gradually, you should be able to overcome the problem by 3 to 5 days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S.
