What Does A Painful White Spot On The Nipple Indicate?
Sir My name is Hariom Singh. I services in Border security force. My wife Poonam Singh have 2nd child delivery on 01st Jan 2018. After delivery white spot on nipple seen .and that white spot is painful. So please guide me.... My contact no.0000
I would like to tell you that since your wife has delivered recently I assume she must be breast feeding the baby. The white spot on the nipple is most likely due to blockage of duct due to clogging of milk.
The most common reason is improper latching of the baby. It may unclog by itself by breast feeding. If it does not then I would advise her to apply warm water to the area and gently massage to unclog it.
She may even apply warm olive oil and gently massage. If still it does not work then she should visit a healthcare, where they will unclog it with the help of a sterile needle.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Nazma Amman
