What Does A Parotid Lesion On An MRI Report Suggest?

Hi, I am having my left parotid gland removed due to a cluster o 12 stones embedded in the gland. I had an abcess aspirated 2 months ago. I still am exhausted since the aspiration. I see the surgeon on the 1st of December after my MRI, and Surgery in the 12 of December. I also have 4 stones on my right as well. The MRI says RX Parotid Lession? I don t know what that means. I m still slightly swelling up, drinking more that 1/2 gallon of water a day. I m a nervous wreak. Thank God there is a support group on Facebook called Parotid People. This has been very helpful that I don t feel so alone. Thanks for your help in advance Andrea

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

You are having multiples stones in the parotid gland.

Consult a general surgeon and plan for surgical removal of the gland.

A fine needle biopsy can be attempted before the surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
