What Does A Pink Bump In The Ears Indicate?

Hi, my sister has been stretching her ears for about 6 months. I hope you know what I mean. You know, gauges? She hasn t skipped a size.Anyway she hasn t had any problems other then the occasional soreness. But recently (about a week ago) she noticed a pink bump/ball on the inside of her piercing hole. When she touched it, it was painful and she saw it was full of puss and bled. It has not gone away. It will swell up but then go back down when she puts rubbing alcohol on it. Could this be an infection? I don t think its a keloid. Please help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Keloid doesn't increase or decrease in size. It is an infection. She must take antistaphylococcal antibiotics as amoxicillin-clavulanate and antiinflammatory as diclofenac.
If no effect, then it must be drained.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
