Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
In March I had surgery to remove a polyp found in my colon during a colonoscopy. 14 inches of my colon was removed and fused back together. No problems -- was able to pass a normal bowel movement within 24 hours. I have had a sharp acute pain in my left part of my abdomen which only lasts for seconds. Could this just be scar tissue where the colon was fused back together? Can an ultrasound show scar tissue?

What Does A Polyp In The Colon Indicate?
Hello and welcome to the HealthcareMagic! Post operative infection can also lead to such pain. Antibiotic course can be prescribed for that. For pain Paracetamol tablet can be prescribed. If no improvement and if an examination indicates a serious issue then USG scan has to be done without delay. Hope this solves your concern. Take care
